Iridescence is an optical phenomenon of surfaces in which hue changes with the angle of observation and the angle of illumination.

 

Come, join us for a walk through Malmö. A stroll through the city of today, but also Malmö 20 years ago, in the midst of receiving a high number of immigrants fleeing the war in the Balkans.

Through video-walks we double-expose stories from different times. Then and now. Memories become like layers over the city. Layers of time that might be closer now than ever before, but can only be seen from certain angles and only when the light falls the right way. 

 

Bombina Bombast have been guided by people with experiences from Malmö as an arrival city and heroic individuals that did everything in their power to make people feel welcome in Sweden. With their stories, a number of video-walks through the city were created under the name WALKS: iridescent. The films premiered during the festival Transistor and as an app for anyone to experience them at any time.
